Join us for a thought-provoking presentation by Irene Shanks, the Head of Business at aerospace company AlbaOrbital to see how Wentworth’s first satellite could be deployed into space.

Irene will delve into the history of AlbaOrbital, from its initial conception to its current status. As founders of the innovative picosatellite format, AlbaOrbital has undergone unique challenges and triumphs that have ultimately carried them to the forefront of ultra-small satellite launches.

Critical areas of discussion will include the rigorous processes of licensing, funding, and the relentless dedication required in this competitive industry. By spotlighting their own experiences and hurdles, AlbaOrbital seeks to demystify the complexities of the Space Industry.

<aside> 🎙️ Wentworth PicoSat: Introduction Seminar Thursday, May 18th — 5:00pm CEIS Lobby

Have you heard talks about a satellite being built by Wentworth students? We are inviting all students and faculty to attend our first public event, where you will learn:

• Our high level mission statement
• Our sub-groups and what they do
• The skills we are learning and actively teaching to new members

We will begin by introducing who we are and what motivates us. Then, we will give you a peek into our world of satellite engineering. You will see what our meeting structure is, how information is shared, and how our efforts have already paid off. Multiple students in PicoSat have already been offered Co-op positions based off their PicoSat involvement exclusively.

We are looking to get more students involved, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet our team!
